Siera hurried down the stone hall, water rushing along the outside. She knew she was late for her class, but she had been studying with her friend Ishiko when she realized it was waaaay past one-thirty.
Trying to run faster she stumbled slightly, then caught her self. Those stupid heels her mother had tried to make her wear were killing her. Siera did NOT wear heels to school.
She practically threw herself through the door of ocean navigation, and slammed down into her seat. Ms. Ditari glared at her with her golden eyes, an unpleasant smile imprinted on her face.
"Well, now that Ms. LaMont has kindly agreed to join us today, we shall continue with our quiz." Ms. Ditari huffed.
Siera looked around her to see the students huddled over their own small stack of paper.
"Crap," she muttered.
~
Ishiko quietly gathered notebooks, pencils, papers and textbooks of the flooor, placing them neatly in the bookshelf.Things were quiet without Siera cracking jokes,or talking about Miss Stupid Fat Ditari." Over my head, over my he-ad"Ishi's celphone rang, her hand quickly snatching it." Hello?" " Ishi! It's Yori!" Yori yelled excitedly." OH my gosh!Yori! I have'nt heard from you for like 6 months!" Ishi shreiked jumping up and down. Yori knew her since they were 6 years old always together hip to hip.And it stayed that way for 8 years until he got a girlfiend. Ishi and Yori were still best friends as always but, with Kana things were not the same.Kana was clingy and horny, pulling her tank top lower and lower. Then Yori had transfered to Kana's school and left Ishi alone. For a while, it seemed life was pointlesss until she met Siera. Siera was like another Yori, but better. " Ishi! Meet me at our old hide out."Yori whispered and hung up.She shook her head but ran outside.
Ishi muttered to herself rolling her eyes." He can't mean our SECRET old hideout..Hmph.. Really?" Ishi reculantly climbed up the old ladder and dived into the abandoned boat." ISHIKO!!" Yori yelled happily and shook hands with her."So, Kana only allows you to shake hands with other girls." Ishi laughed." Yeah."
" Yori! Why on earth are you here, with.. a girl?" Kana shreiked as she stomped inside. " Kana, deary this is Ishiko. She was my best freind for 8 years. A long time, eh?" Yori smiled patting Ishi. Was best friend." Oh. Yori! Get out of this boat instantly!Sexy guys like you don't go in old boats with geeky girls like her.You know that sweety.."Kana cackled sliding her tongue in his mouth.Ishi quickly backed to the entrance and covered her eyes." I'll be leaving now.." Ishi mumbled disgusted and ran out, stumbling back home.
~
"I shouldn't have taken extra ocean geography," Siera muttered to herself. But the test wasn't so hard, and soon she was outside riding her bike home.
~
Suddenly,Ishi heard the ring of a bike. She looked up seeing the bike, going right into her, she tried to move but it was too late." Yahh!"she shreiked and fell down with the bike." Oh my gosh I'm so...Ishi?" the girl asked. Ishi sat up and squinted at..Siera." I'm totally sorry! Well, Siera, did Miss Ditari give you a lecture?" she laughed, getting up. She checked the bike, but everything was okay." Kind of. But the test was really easy. I mean, really."Siera added, pushing her hair away from her eyes." Hey,want to walk to the dock?" Ishi asked politely." Sure, let's go." Siera agreed and they both started walking.
~
" Bling!Ring!Bling!Ring!" Siera's shellphone rang as she swiped out her phone and put it to her ears."Mom?I'm with Ishiko.Yeah, I did the class.Yes, your heels are..." CRACK!The once high 8 inch heel was a sad broken heel." Yeah..uh..mom.WE'll talk later when I get home..Uh,mom.My phone is disconnecting somehow..Uh..I can't hear you.."Siera frantically faked and turned off the device." What am I gonna do???" Siera yelped."Here.I saw your mom get those once shoes, at Shoeshell Shop.Go.Get the right size too!" Ishiko reassured her, handing Siera a 20 sand dollar bill."Thanks.Oh! I might as well swim." Siera sighed and swam toward town.
Ishiko went back to her house quietly, hoping to Poseidon that Siera's mom wouldn't notice. She stopped for some reason and rested on the side of a fountain." I need to go somewhere.Far away from Sitnalta. Far from civilization, tests and pressuring parents.I need to get away." she sighed and glided to her house, pushing open the door and banging up the stairs.Ishiko flung open the window and climbed onto the roof, feeling free and relaxed." Can I join you?" a voice spoke coming from..where? Rii climbed into Ishiko's view and sat beside her." okay, look.I've had a tiring day, so listen carefully."
~
"You have to come with me, right now." Rii said. "If you don't, something horrible could happen. It won't happen to you directly, but your friends and family could be seriously harmed," she explained slowly, letting it all sink in. "You have been chosen to... to..." she tried to articulate what she was thinking. "Help a certain group of people. Another group of people is searching for you. If they find you, they will kill you."
~
" What? You mean, they might harm Siera too?" Ishiko yelped.Rii nodded."Okay.I'll come." Ishiko choked, and looked into Rii's eyes. Somehow, Ishiko felt she could trust her.
~
Rii smiled. "Thank you. You have no idea how much this means to me." She said. "Now... we have to get to the City Temple. Do you know where it is?"
~
"Yeah.I know where it is." Ishiko murmured, rolling her eyes."what's the fastest way?" Rii demanded anxiously."Hm.Well...By turtle.Sea turtle." Ishiko sighed and whistled loudly.2 sea turtles swam to them gracefully, lowering their backs.Rii and Ishiko quickly jumped on and sped away.
* * * * *
"Here it is." Ishiko panted, sliding off the turtle.
~
Rii frowned. "I didn't think it was this small." she said. "Why would a transfer point be in a place like this...?" she trailed off, and led Ishiko into the building. A tall man in a red suit wearing glasses peered down at them and sighed.
"Yes? Another school visit, I suspect?" He said lazily.
"No, actually...." Rii leaned up towards him and whispered something into his ear. The man's eyes widened. "I see. It's down that hall to the left," he said, pointing.
"Thank you," Rii said pleasantly, and walked with Ishi down the hall. They entered a small, glowing room, with a deep pit in the ground.
"What is THAT?" Ishiko gasped.
"That's the transfer point." said Rii." Don't worry, I'll explain everything once we get to the islands. Now, We're going to have to jump down. Is that all right with you?"
Ishi nodded slowly.
"Good. Here we go!" Rii grabbed Ishiko's hand and together they jumped into the pit.
~
" Where are we going?I really don't think falling in a pit is neccasar..Ah!!!" Ishiko yelled, trying to hear herself over the rushing wind.
~
"Shush. We've stopped." Rii said simply, and forced Ishiko's hands off her eyes. They were standing in a small, circular room. Roots were crawling in and out of the ceiling, and rune shapes adorned the walls. All around them were hallways and doors that spread forward seemingly forever.
"Now where is it...?" Rii mumbled to herself as she examined some doors. "Ah!" She pressed something into a rune shaped like water on one of the doors, and turned to Ishiko.
"I have to leave for just a few seconds. I'll be back soon." She turned and walked through the door.

"Phew!" Siera sighed to herself as she waited in line at the checkout. She had gotten the right pair of shoes. Now her mom wouldn't flip three million fuses over her. Siera resolved to thank Ishiko later. She decided to take the turtle home, since the mall was so far away.
A big gust of wind nearly blew Siera's hat off when she arrived home. She felt like something was wrong...
"Hello? Mom? Dad?" She called when she entered the house. There was no reply. The house was empty.
